Milestones

This week has a lot of milestones.
1 - My Goddaughter, Trystan, turns 5 tomorrow.  Here she is at a month old...

and here she is a couple weeks ago at her preschool graduation...
Isn't she beautiful in her "painted dots"?!  She has the typical red head attitude and her mom has already been asked about putting her in modeling.  The answer was "no".

2 - This week marks a year in my apartment.  I love it here in Colfax!  Very quiet and only 10 minutes to work.  I have the best land lords who are in their 80s and still do everything like they are in their 50s.  Mr. Westmoreland must be a pyro because he is constantly collecting stuff for his burn pile in the back yard.  You don't want to get Mrs. Westmoreland on this subject.
3 - Sunday will be Luna and I's 1 year anniversary.  He has definitely been a great companion.  This is a pic from the day I got him at only three weeks old...

He was abandoned and I had to bottle feed him and basically do "everything" for him other than play and walk.  At first he was thought to be a girl and all of a sudden things happened and I had to confine him to one room until I could get him fixed.  Here he is at 3 months old and much more independent...

and now...

He barely lets me out of his sight when I am home and is full of suprises.  He will randomly grab my leg from behind but never uses his claws.  I have started calling these moments "hugs".  Sometimes I wake up with him on my bed and watching me.  He chases a tennis ball but his favorite toy of all is his bear.  I call it pookie, like Garfield's bear, and he carries it around all over the apartment.  He gets really spastic sometimes.  I think he might be pentacostal because he gets really excited when my small group girls are over for Bible study, especially during prayer.  I think he likes visitors just as much as I do.  He loves to sniff of my friends hair.  If he could talk, he would probably ask them out.  The guys who aren't into cats have told me that he is a really cool cat and they don't mind him.  The beauty of American Bobtails is they are a lot like dogs in personality.  I have read that they are usually big cats and don't stop growing until around 2 years old.

Let's try this again

In college I blogged quite often.  Once the real world hit, I forgot all about the xanga and livejournal that held my life story.  I'm sure I still have the passwords written down for both of them somewhere!

Anyways,  I need some ways to get things out.  I often hold things in but i am working hard not to!  My friends help a lot.  Taking walks with them does more than help me physically but mentally too.  I greatly appreciate them letting me get out my frustrations.

My job has been crazy.  Nothing prepares you for merger but, well, merger.  The work load is crazy and sometimes I wish I was super woman or snap my fingers and make things happen.  I trust in the Lord that things will be okay.  I know things will get better.  I'm not sure they can get any worse.

I have also been watching what I eat.  I hope to drop at least 50 pounds in the next year.  I'm signed up on an amazing website called sparkpeople.com that is a big help in tracking calories and exercise.  I've never been skinny.  I have many motivators - get off blood pressure medicine - prevent heart disease that runs in the family - making people look at my eyes instead of my hips (I heard they are amazing and I have to agree!) - self confidence (I'm a female, I'll leave it at that) - tearing it up on the dance floor into my 90s - looking amazing in my wedding gown, if and when I get married - seeing my kids grow up - and much more!  I'm doing great so far and can't wait to find what has been hiding within me all these years.

There's a guy I'm interested in but I have no idea he is interested in me except for the unexpected things he randomly does when we are together.  I'm sure you will hear more about this and feel free to give any advice.

My cat Luna is 1 as of this month.  I got him on July 4th last year at 3 weeks old.  I had to bottle feed him and "everything" (you really don't want to know what "everything" entails ).  I will post now and then pictures sometime in the next week.
